Many who choose New Horizons have lived in Woburn and the surrounding communities for much of their lives, while others move to the area to be closer to family. The warm community atmosphere welcomes the frequent visits by family and friends, as well as preschoolers from the connected child day care. Multiple comfortable and well-appointed common areas provide space for these visits and an abundance of daily activities. When you come in for a visit, be sure to view the indoor fish and turtle pond in the Living Room, as well as our beautiful patio and outdoor gardens.

Subsidized by Cummings Foundation and income generated by the connected Choate Medical Center, monthly service fees are substantially lower than competing communities. These discounted rates serve the mission of Cummings Foundation, to give back to the community in which commercial real estate firm Cummings Properties found its beginnings.

About two-thirds of the 98 apartments are occupied by residents receiving independent program services, and 35 by residents receiving assisted living services. There are an additional 26 apartments for residents receiving memory care.

Assisted living services are provided by on-site Winchester Hospital/Homecare and memory care by Hearthstone Alzheimer Care.

Both New Horizons are strictly not-for-profit communities owned by Cummings Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in New England. Cummings Foundation awards more than $25 million annually,
and has awarded more than $280 million to date to support Greater Boston nonprofits.
